Dieneke Jansen is an Auckland-based artist who works with multiple site and lens registers, linking activism and precarious dwelling with an art world’s material and social support through exhibition practice and off-site events. Jansen was awarded the CK12 artist residency in Rotterdam in 2012, the New Zealand National Contemporary Art Award in 2013 and was invited to make work for the Jakarta Biennale in 2015. Her 2015-2016 Dwelling on the Stoep projects focused on the socio-political spatiality of ‘failed’ housing projects in Jakarta, Amsterdam and Auckland. Since 2013 Jansen has worked with a community fighting gentrification resulting in multi-platform exhibition projects G.I. Areas A & B,and 90 DAYS+. Dieneke Jansen is a senior lecturer in Visual Arts at AUT University, New Zealand.
