Printmaking using Palimpsest

Today I was introduced to oil-based printmaking.

Printmaking involves layers, this process works well with the palimpsest brief because you can add layers to a piece, changing its visual appearance but still leaving traces. I used the stencil cut out of the women for the last piece to create a silhouette effect on the fabric. It did not turn out as I expected, the pink barely appeared over the blue. although I wasn’t happy with how it turned out it left me with these cool vivid silhouettes on the lino cuts.
