Adding Planes (2)

April 20-27th 2021

This week I wanted to make something that didn’t use the metal wire. I struggled bending it and didn’t like how the rust and grease came off onto my hands. I had the idea to cut and bend cardboard to create a triangular structure. The artist Gregor Kregar inspired me to bring this concept to life with their cardboard construction. I love how Kregar used the simple shape of a triangle to create this sculpture that plays with angles. On his website Kregar also mentions that the space and the materials to dictated how big the piece would be. I like how the space the sculpture I in directly connects.

As the brief this week was about plane, and not mass, for mine I used one piece of cardboard and bent it it create a similar shape. I also added in triangles of different fabrics to black up all the brown of the card board.
