Darren Almond, week 3

I was introduced to Darren’s work through the slide show we were shown. I was drawn to the mystical feeling of his work. Because it’s been taken on film it gave me the feeling it was taken in an imaginary world. I felt like the picture below is particularly related to my work because it creates a sense of imagination. In my eyes, it doesn’t look like the ‘real world.

I edited my final photos to look like film, evoking a more saturated and imaginary images.

When I reflect on my work with Carmen I can see the idea of nurturing nature through photography. It’s the colours we both use that are highly saturated, this style of editing gives off a feeling of joy. Editing is such an ‘unrealistic’ way that brings out our inner child and the creativity we once held. In saying that how can we even say it’s unrealistic.
