Introduced to clay this week as I started a new brief -sculpture ” Verisimilitude”
Most of the week consisted of practical learning:
1 Conditioning the recycled clay:
2 Creating the base of a clay head= head frame+ stuffed wet newspaper+ damp fabric tied down.
3 We then covered the base with conditioned clay.
4 It is important to note the centre of the work – the steel bar is running down the centre bar-
5 Scultpting the clay into a proportioned head also is part of the tecnical process.
6 From here the clay head sculpting began.
I printed out reference photos of person I wanted to sculpt (my sister)
