Lockdown Work Videos 1-2/5

Eleventh floor to the fifth floor

One of the points I wanted to explore during this lockdown was that while we’re isolating, most people can’t use gyms or pools to exercise, so walking becomes the main thing to do to get exercise and clear your mind. Depending on what you’re doing, walking can either be a leisure or a labour. If you’re taking your dog out for a morning walk, it’s a leisure, but if you’re walking up the stairs to your office building, it’s a labour.

Wellesly Street Footbridge, towards Albert Park

I filmed from waist height at my feet, walking different places. The first video is me getting in and out of an elevator in my building, going from my apartment to the ground floor. The second is me walking across Wellesly Street Footbridge. In the second video, I am walking towards Albert Park, a place where lots of people go to exercise and relax, so the walk I am taking in that video is an act of leisure.
