Versimiilitude: Real mash ups

Intoduction: Patricia Piccini creates “real life” chimeras – an amalgamation of different genetic materials and tissues using silicon, fibre glass and hair. She uses hyper realistic detail to create the unsettling in familiarity. These models are her creations we want to see what you will create.

Provocation: We will be creating a real life mash up. Looking at Patricia Piccini’s sculptures. You are creating your own “Frankenstein” it is inevitable that you will have a relationship with what you create, explore it as well as the relationship it has with the world around you.

Materials and processes: Using found materials or organic materials is better for the reduce reuse policy we have here at AUT but also if it’s too limiting brought materials is allowed. As an organic object it will have a more “real” life cycle in this reality.

Presentation: This will be presented however you like! it would be cool to explore more than one medium of presentation. As there are many things that constitute a sculpture, happy making!
