Stomping in my Cortez. #workingfromhome

In the article, “Ways of seeing Instagram”, it explains that Richard Prince (one of the artists the article talks about) says “It’s almost like it was invented for someone like myself. It’s like carrying around a gallery in your pocket”. ( https://news.artnet.com/art-world/ways-of-seeing-instagram-37635  ) This speaks volumes about the view the young generation has on Instagram and it’s essential part that it plays in daily life. The “carrying around a gallery in your pocket” really resinated with my ideas, and used it to post exactly that. A gallery showcasing my daily life in lockdown. In another article about Instagram and it’s impact on life, says “This pursuit of perfection has led to a rise in filter-inspired plastic surgery” (https://www.google.co.nz/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/technology/2020/may/03/how-instagram-changed-our-world) a statement that proves true to most, even if they won’t admit it.

Cortez > Airforce 1s

Through out my childhood, there were only 4 main types of shoes, one of them being the Nike Cortez. The notorious Nike shoes have been around since the 70s, but the reason I have posted it on my Instagram and my blogs to show off something part of my daily routine. This is a pair of cortez’s that are stuck on a power line, and I pass it every day on my way out of my area. Mexican/American Artist ‘Mister Cartoon’ said in an article, “THESE SHOES, YOU’RE ABLE TO GO ANYWHERE [IN THEM]. THEY REPRESENT WHAT I GREW UP WITH IN THE STREETS” ( https://www.mistercartoon.com/nike-cortez )
