Discovering- A walk through Tamaki Makaurau.

A light shining on a tree in Queens Street.

This week we were given time to explore Auckland city as tourist. It was interesting to look around with that perspective in mind. It made me more aware of my surroundings and a lot of things that I haven’t seen before popped up.

An alley way off High Street.

What I also found really interesting visually was how light sits on objects around and on buildings. Our first task was to pair up and do a coin toss to see where it would take us. I think doing the coin toss was good but at the same time it felt tiring and time consuming. so for the coin toss I ended up in Aotea square and Britomart. I thought. this was a really interesting way to start the brief.

This is around the corner to Auckland Libraries.
This is a back street to Britomart.
